CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A suspect is at large Wednesday morning after fleeing on foot following a chase with the Charleston County Sheriffs Office.
According to a preliminary statement from deputies, they pursued the suspect who was operating a stolen vehicle, down Clements Ferry Road at approximately 9 a.m. Wednesday,
One person was in the vehicle at the time of the chase and they have since reportedly exited the vehicle near the 2500 block of Clements Ferry Road, and fled on foot.
There is not believed to be a threat to the public at this time, according to deputies, and an active investigation is underway.
