PATRICK, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A crash involving multiple vehicles on I-80 east of Sparks led to major delays Wednesday morning.
The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a five-vehicle crash on I-80 near Waltham Way in Washoe County around 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 29.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 1984 International box truck was traveling eastbound on I-80 in the right lane when the driver failed to slow and stop for slow traffic ahead. The truck crashed into the rear of a 2021 Toyota Tacoma.
This crash forced the Toyota Tacoma into the rear of a 2024 Ram 2500 pickup. The Ram pickup was then forced into the rear of a 2010 Honda Accord, and the Honda was forced into the rear of a 2007 Toyota Rav4.
Authorities say the driver of the Toyota Tacoma was transported to a local area hospital with reportedly non-life threating injuries. All other drivers involved reported minor injuries.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reminds drivers to always give full attention to the safe operation of their vehicle. Keep your eyes on the road and always be prepared for changing traffic conditions.
