A DIRTY faecal-fiend who defecated in a police van and smeared excrement in the cells has been warned he could be back behind bars before Christmas.
Scott Dempster was warned he might spend Christmas in jail if he doesn’t behave after the judge heard of his vile behaviour in custody at Kilmarnock police station on April 21 last year.
He appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 4 after maliciously urinating in a police van and smearing faeces on the vehicle.
Dempster also maliciously urinated and defecated in a cell at Kilmarnock Police Office and then smearing faeces over the cell and a camera.
The Procurator Fiscal depute said: “At 5pm police were on uniformed patrol when they attended the address for issues that are no longer before the court.
“After speaking to the person, they confirmed the accused was in their company. A short time later they bumped into the accused at a shop and he was arrested.
“In the course of the journey, the accused, who was only wearing shorts and underwear, defecated in the rear of the cell vehicle and smeared in onto the window and seat.
“The accused was amused by his conduct and continued smearing his faecal matter throughout the journey.
“On arrival he was placed in a police cell but he continued to defecate and smeared it all over the cell, including over the camera.”
Alongside the smelly saga, Dempster also admitting to repeatedly shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner towards his pregnant girlfriend.
The 38-year-old, who the court heard had a “record of dishonesty”, also made derogatory remarks after he refused to leave her home address when requested to, attempted to seize her mobile phone from her and kicked the front door.
Dempster also threw the contents of a bottle of juice at her during the incident on August 31 this year at Ballochmyle in Auchinleck.
The court heard he also breached bail orders imposed on November 25, 2024, where he was subject to the condition he remain at home in New Cumnock.
Defence solicitor Ms Jobson said: “He is a very sorry man today and his period on remand he has spent wisely. He has attended counselling.”
Sheriff Mhari MacTaggart said: “You are going to have to go a considerable way to stay out of jail.”
Bail was continued for Dempster, of Steelhead Avenue in New Cumnock, who will return for sentencing next month.
