Emergency officials say a 7-year-old boy was hit by a car while crossing the street to board a school bus Wednesday morning in Somerset County.
According to the Conemaugh Township Police Chief, the bus was reportedly slowing down, with its yellow lights flashing, when the child entered Seanor Road and was hit by a car.

Police said a 7-year-old boy was hit by a car while crossing the road to board a school bus.

Officials say a paramedic was nearby when the incident occurred and provided medical help to the child until first responders arrived. The boy was then reportedly taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
The boy's grandmother tells 6News that he is doing alright but will be kept in the hospital overnight.
Conemaugh Township School District superintendent Nicole Dull says that officials at the district did plan to debrief on Wednesday, discussing possible future action and preventative measures.
A neighbor and friend of of boy's family Tori Hambly says Seanor Road makes many feel unsafe with the several blind curves, including one right next to the boy's home.
"I was always afraid of myself getting in a wreck. I was never hoping for anything like this to happen. This is horrible," Hambly said.
According to the police chief, the driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigation and at this time there are no criminal charges.
