TRAVERSE CITY, Mich,. (WPBN/WGTU) – – A 32-year-old man is dead, and the Traverse City Police Department believe this incident is connected to the attempted homicide and alleged car theft on Saturday night.
Police said the body was found at 7:48 a.m. Sunday around 300 East State Street.

The victim has been identified as Lawerance Boyd IV of Traverse City.
He is an employee of Parking Services for the City, investigators said.
Benjamin Marentette, interim City Manager stated:

Police said Boyd appeared to have died from a shooting.

Investigators said evidence suggests this incident is connected to the alleged car theft and attempted homicide of a Traverse City police officer on November 15.
Two teen suspects are in custody, and the firearm has been recovered, police said.
Authorities assure there are no further public safety concerns.
The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from multiple agencies, including the Michigan State Police Crime Lab and the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office.
