A MAN has been rushed to hospital with serious burns after an explosion ripped through an underground car park.
Medics rushed to the scene on Queens Road, near Wimbledon Quarter shopping centre, in London this morning after receiving reports of an explosion.

Fire crews and police also responded and have closed Queens Road in both directions.
The shopping centre was evacuated shortly after emergency crews arrived in the wake of the blast.
It is understood that the explosion originated from a van parked in an underground car park.
Images from the scene show the completely mangled motor in a parking space with debris strewn around it.

The entire back end of the van has been destroyed with the huge metal panels making up the body of the vehicle bent out of shape.
All of the windows have been smashed and the interior of the van has been left exposed.
The contents of the van exploded after it collided with the roof of the car park, cops said.
A harrowing image of the wrecked motor shows the interior completely shredded and the sides of the van blown outwards by the force of the explosion.

One man in his 60s, reportedly the driver, suffered injuries in the terrifying incident.
He was rushed to hospital after being treated at the scene for burn wounds.
A massive emergency response was sparked soon after the explosion went off with the London Ambulance Service deploying several vehicles.
It remains unclear what exactly caused the explosion, which went off just meters from a busy train station.
Wimbledon Underground station and railway services remain open.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.06am on Monday 17 November to reports of an explosion on Queens Road, Wimbledon. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).
“We treated a man at the scene for burns and took him to hospital as a priority.”

A police spokesperson said: “At 10.10am on Monday (November 17), officers responded to reports of an explosion on Queens Road, Wimbledon.
“Police, the London Ambulance Service, and the London Fire Brigade attended the scene and found that the contents of a van had exploded after the vehicle is believed to have struck the roof of a car park.”
