A dramatic car fire has caused gridlock across country lanes in Norfolk.
The blaze broke out at about 8.20am today on the B1113 at Swardeston, the main cut through for motorists keen to avoid the roadworks on the A11.
Thick plumes of black smoke were seen billowing from the vehicle, which was completely engulfed in flames.

Police and multiple fire crews are currently on the scene.
An eyewitness has described how “every single country lane is now gridlocked” as a result of the fire.
A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary confirmed that the fire had been extinguished just after 9am, but that the vehicle had not yet been recovered.
The extent of any injuries remains unknown. The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
