A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.
The incident happened on Fowlds Street in Kilmarnock at around 2.40pm this afternoon, November 19,
Following the incident, the busy road has been closed to all traffic.

Police Scotland said the crash involved a pedestrian and a car, prompting officers to close the road and warn drivers the town centre is extremely busy.
Cops have put in place an avoid area warning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Fowlds Street in Kilmarnock is closed following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car which happened around 2.40pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
“The male pedestrian was taken to hospital.
“The town centre is extremely busy due to the road closure and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”

Following the incident, Stagecoach has warned that they are facing severe delays.
The bus operator apologised to travellers that their 11 service has been affected following a “police incident”.
They said: “We’ve currently got severe delays on our 11 Service due to a Police Incident in Kilmarnock.
“We’re so sorry if this is impacting your journey.
“We’re trying to get to you as quickly as we can!”
