SAGINAW TWP, Mich. — The Saginaw Township Police Department says one person is dead and another was injured after a three car crash Wednesday morning.
Police say the crash occurred around 7:52 a.m. at State St. and Midland Rd just west of intersection on the bridge that crosses the Tittabawassee River.
Investigation by police indicates that a Ford pickup truck was traveling westbound on State St. from Midland Rd. crossing over the bridge when the driver lost control.
The truck crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Chevrolet Cruze which was then struck from behind by an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe that was unable to stop in time.
The driver of the Ford truck, a 31-year-old female from Saginaw was injured and transported to the hospital.
Two young children were also in the vehicle and one complained of a minor injury while the second was not injured.
A 67-year-old female from Saginaw who was driving the Cruze suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
