UPDATE — New York State Police have provided more information on a crash that occurred Friday morning, which injured a trooper, according to information from NYSP.
Around 8:10 a.m., a trooper from state police Endwell was traveling west on state Route 17C near the intersection of Chaumont Drive when a silver sedan failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn in the parking lot of the Town of Union office building, state police said.
Due to this, the two vehicles crashed, resulting in heavy damage to both vehicles. The trooper sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The operator of the silver sedan was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
ENDWELL, N.Y. (WBNG) — Emergency crews were at the scene of a crash on Friday in Endwell involving a New York State Police patrol vehicle and another car.
The crash took place on Friday, Nov. 21, around 8 a.m., along State Route 17C in Endwell, close to the Town of Union office buildings and the NYSP Endwell location, according to information from a 12 News reporter at the scene.
The state police vehicle was seen with airbags deployed and front-end damage, just off the side of the road in a parking lot to one of the buildings. The second vehicle was seen parked along the road with damage to the front as well.
Fire crews from the Endwell Fire Department were seen cleaning the roadway around 8:30 a.m.
It’s unknown if any injuries were reported, but paramedics from Union EMS and Maine Emergency Squad were at the scene, along with other state troopers.
