The R28 towards the Pinehaven intersection in Krugersdorp was at a near standstill this morning following a massive multi-vehicle crash involving more than 30 vehicles.
Krugersdorp News was currently on the scene, where traffic heading towards the N14/Pinehaven intersection was heavily backed up.
Numerous emergency services responded, including police, ambulances, Public Safety, and Mogale Fire and Rescue.
According to Sterkfontein EMS station commander André Raijmakers, about 35 light motor vehicles and four heavy motor vehicles were involved after a truck collided with them.
He confirmed the incident occurred at about 08:30, resulting in 10 people being moderately injured and 13 sustaining minor injuries.
“There are no fatalities or critically injured patients reported. The patients were transported to nearby hospitals,” he said.
Motorists were advised that the road may remain closed for four to six hours.
