On Sunday evening, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) were called out to various incidents across the country.
At 6.39pm, a vehicle collided with a wild animal on the N13 between Garnich and Windhof, resulting in one person being injured. Emergency teams from Mamer and Kahler responded to the scene.
Shortly after 7pm, firefighters from Mamer were dispatched to Rue Anna Lindh due to smoke in a residential property.
Then, at 10.09pm, a fire broke out in an unoccupied house on Route de Luxembourg in Bereldange. No injuries were reported in either of the fire service interventions. The cause of the blaze at the property in Bereldange has yet to be determined. What is certain, however, is that the fire highlights the ongoing issue of vacant properties, even in central municipalities like Bereldange. This problem has been raised repeatedly by the Foundation for Access to Housing.
