
Two women in their 20s, who were in the Suzuki, were pronounced dead at the scene, and a nine-year-old boy, who was also in the car, was rushed to the hospital. Three men in the Vauxhall were also injured in the crash, with two needing treatment for what are said to be serious injuries.

After an investigation, Derbyshire Police arrested an 18-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
However, due to the injuries he sustained in the crash on Common Lane in Pleasely, the man was taken to the hospital before officers began their questioning, where he remains.
Officers investigating the fatal collision are now appealing to the public for more information or to motorists who may have dashcam footage of the cars before the incident.

In a statement, Derbyshire Police said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision as well as anyone with any information.
