WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) – I-84 westbound is closed between exits 25 and 23 in Waterbury due to an overturned car crash.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported the closure Wednesday at 6:28 p.m.
Connecticut State Police said the crash involved a car striking a guardrail with minor injuries reported. The highway is closed for an investigation.
The crash comes as AAA expects 772,000 people to drive through Connecticut this week for Thanksgiving, with Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening representing the worst time to be on the roads.
No information has been released about injuries or the cause of the crash. The duration of the closure is unknown.
