A car fire caused long delays on the A11.
Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of the major route near Red Lodge at about 3.20pm on Friday.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said both lanes were closed near the Esso garage just after the Fiveways Roundabout.
One lane reopened shortly after, but traffic sensors showed severe delays in the area.
The scene has since cleared.
