Eastbound I-94 in Portage has shut down for a crash, according to the Kalamazoo Consolidated Dispatch Authority and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Specifically, the crash happened on the highway near Portage Road exit 78, MDOT officials said in a release. (MDOT/WWMT)
PORTAGE, Mich. — Eastbound I-94 in Portage has reopened to traffic after a four-car crash shut down part of the freeway for a time Friday night.
The crash happened on the highway near Portage Road exit 78, according to the Kalamazoo Consolidated Dispatch Authority and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
Per Portage Department of Public Safety, four cars collided on the highway. Minor injuries were reported.
One eastbound lane stayed open while crews work to remove the cars from the freeway.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area or seek an alternate route.
