A New York car hunter was asked three times before deciding to help a grandson find the 1977 Porsche 911 S sports car that used to belong to his grandpa.
This incredible story comes via Instagram and YouTube via VINwiki, with the grandson trying hard to find the classic Porsche but being unable to do so after several attempts.
Car hunter Tim Fabrizio was called in to help, but it took three attempts to convince ‘The Barn Find King’ to go hunting for it.
He warned that the search could take years and offer no results, but he decided to press ahead with the challenge.

As the sports car had not been in the public eye much, Fabrizio had only a few resources to help him find it.
These were a photograph of the grandfather in the 1970s, and a 17-digit VIN for the Porsche.
That was all the information that Fabrizio had to go on at the start of the hunt.
It turned out the car had been sold by the grandfather at one point.
But the family had no idea who had bought the car.
What they did know was that it went to a contract around Newark, Delaware.
With this information, Fabrizio posted on social media, at local clubs, and spoke to Porsche enthusiasts.
Somehow, he was able to strike gold.
He came across a 1977 Porsche 911 stripped down in Delaware.
This man on social media explained he had bought the car from Parsonsburg, Maryland.
As luck would have it, this was only five miles away from where the previous owner of the car had lived.
After asking around and doing more digging, it turned out this car was a match.
The downside was that the car was disassembled, but the grandson didn’t care one bit about this.
Now, the Porsche is undergoing restoration, including acid dipping.

Fabrizio has also decided to help find original parts for the sports car.
Despite having very little information to find it, Fabrizio ensured this classic Porsche 911 finally returned home.
