Mahindra is the rage this independence week. Hot on the heels of launching a limited edition, Batman version of the BE6 born electric SUV, the company has now unveiled its new NU_IQ platform, which will form the base for four new cars showcased as concepts today. Let us now understand what one of them, the Vision S, is all about.
The new NU_IQ platform is flexible, allowing Mahindra to adapt to various formats, be it FWD or AWD, LHD or RHD, electric or ICE, and so on. Coming to the Vision S Concept, it previews the new-gen Bolero, test mules of which have already been spotted ahead of its anticipated launch in Q2 CY26.
In terms of design, the new Mahindra Vision S Concept boasts L-shaped LED DRLs, lighting equipment merged into the new grille, signature twin-peaks logo, ice-cube LED fog lights at the front and the rear, contrast-coloured skid plates, ADAS sensor on the front air dam, machined alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, roof-mounted aux lights, and chunky body cladding.
Further, it receives a Defender-style ladder and storage box on either side, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, high-mounted stop lamp, dual-tone rear bumper, vertically stacked LED light strips on what seem to be new design elements, and a Vision S badging on the spare wheel cover.
The interior of the upcoming Vision S Concept looks futuristic, while blending a few elements offered on its current range of cars. The blue and black interior theme is contrasted by a silver theme on the dashboard. There is a new three-spoke-multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, dual digital displays sitting flush in a single unit, along with three vertically positioned AC vents, completely new and premium set of buttons and controls all around, glossy black inserts, and two yellow inserts with buckles on the passenger end of the dashboard.
While technical specifications of the Mahindra Vision S Concept are under wraps at the moment, we expect the brand to throw in a laundry list of features, some of which will include a panoramic sunroof, drive modes, ventilated front seats, EPB with auto-hold, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, TPMS, and a suite of airbags.
