A collision on Highway 3, just east of Sparwood, has left one person dead and another injured.
Elk Valley RCMP responded to a fatal collision between two vehicles on Sunday, November 30 on Highway 3 at Corbin Rd.
Sgt. Svend Nielsen reported that one driver was found deceased on scene and the other was airlifted for medical treatment in Calgary via STARS. Both individuals were from Alberta. Police have notified the drivers’ families, who are being supported through the Victim Services Program.
RCMP is not able to disclose the cause of the crash at this time.
The highway was closed for several hours and a detour was put in place. Traffic had resumed by 6:30 p.m.
