An inquest is today expected to be opened and adjourned into the death of a pedestrian struck by a car. Thomas Vincent Yates – known as Vinnie – was in collision with a car on Wharf Road, in Biddulph, on November 14 and taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
But the 80-year-old Biddulph OAP passed away in hospital nine days later.
Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the tragedy. They should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 247 of 14 November.
The inquest is due to be opened at Swann House, on Boothen Road, in Stoke, on Tuesday 2 December.
