The Jaguar Type 00 has been shown in this new London Red paint scheme ahead of the production car’s launch early next year.
It’s the beginning of the end of the Jaguar Type 00 concept car.
The production version of the electric GT tourer is pencilled in to be revealed early next year – a pre-production version has already been spotted testing at the Nürburgring circuit. But as a final hurrah for the concept car, the Type 00 has been shown in this new London Red paint scheme.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
When the concept car was launched in 2024, it was shown in Inception Silver Blue and Miami Pink colours. This London Red colour is a nod to Jaguar’s heritage, as the brand celebrates the anniversary of its first car – the 22 – being launched in London 90 years ago.
The 5-metre long, 2-metre wide, Tron-meets-Cruella de Vil ultra-luxury electric GT tourer represents a dramatic change of direction for Jaguar. So dramatic, it was named Carwow’s Most Talked About Car in our recent Car of the Year Awards.
Accepting the award, UK brand director Santino Pietrosanti told Carwow the concept car needed to make a statement, to show the future direction the brand is taking.

“Right from the start we said we’re not designing a car, we’re designing a Jaguar,” said Pietrosanti, who has been working on this rebranding project for five years. “Over 200,000 people saw the car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It needed to do that.”
How true will the production car stay to the Type 00 concept car? Pietrosanti said the Type 00 is not simply a design exercise to produce a striking concept car, but with it built on an all-new collection of parts called the Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), it was always designed with a production car in mind.
“It is a Jaguar platform,” he said. “Not a Land Rover platform.”
So while the production car will be a four-door GT (the concept car has just two doors) expect the overall look – the long bonnet and wide stance – to remain. Expect versions of the blue, red and pink colours to make it to the production version, too.
Jaguar has confirmed that this car will have around 480 miles of range, but it stopped short of telling us about battery sizes or motor options. Being a big luxury car, you can expect to see a dual-motor setup with more than 500hp on tap.
