Gardai closed a major Co Galway road a multi-car collision around rush hour.
Traffic along other routes is now gridlocked with traffic maps showing deep red on an alternative route.
The incident occurred along the N84 at Curraghline at around 5pm on Friday 15 August 2025.
Gardaí closed a section of the N84 at Curraghline for a time, but the road is now open.
Galway Beo understands that as many as five vehicles were involved in the crash.
Traffic has come to a crawl near Claregalway as many cars diverted from the N84.
It is not yet known if any injuries were sustained during the course of the incident.
