“We heard a very loud bang, it sounded like thunder or lightning,” said Chris Evers.
Inside their home on Woodwick Drive, Evers and his family woke up to chaos early Sunday morning.

“We got up and by the time I got down the hall, my daughter was in the hall and there was a lot of smoke,” said Evers.
Stepping outside, the family saw the entire scene: the front of their home was severely damaged, and a Lexus sedan was still smashed through the wall of their neighbor’s house.
“Looks like a car was coming through here, lost control, struck one house, continued going and went into another house,” said Sgt. Robert Salone with Dallas PD.

Dallas police said one person inside the car died at the scene with another hospitalized in critical condition, and the department was investigating what led up to the crash.
Family and friends identified the man who died as Antony Clemons from Dallas.
“This is new for me, usually it’s just one house involved, but something like this, it’s unusual,” said Salone.
Police told NBC 5 they believed speed was a factor in the crash.
Evers said when the crash happened, his daughter was sleeping in the room the car smashed into, and he was grateful that no one in either home was hurt.
“If things hadn’t happened the way they had, it could be a much more difficult morning for us,” said Evers.
