xpeng carChina’s latest Tesla rival will hit the roads within weeks, with the model offering next-generation battery technology that tops up cars in just minutes. The latest XPENG G6 model is fitted with a new state-of-the-art 80.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, topping up batteries from 10% to 80% within 12 minutes. 
XPENG claims the new battery will make the car the fastest-charging EV in its segment, which could draw customer attention. The latest  XPENG G6 is set to launch in the UK during Q1 2026, and is the latest model from the Chinese marque, which launched in the country back in February 2025. The model looks almost identical to the Tesla Model Y and will even launch on the market at a cheaper price tag.

Read our Privacy Policyxpeng vehiclesXPENG has priced the model from £39,990, around £2,000 cheaper than a brand-new Model Y. The new model is said to be a comprehensive upgrade to the original G6 model, introducing significant enhancements across performance, design, technology, and efficiency. 
The new vehicle is fitted with a range of exterior styling enhancements, including a new 1,942mm  LED light bar with integrated turn signals. The car also comes with body-coloured wheel arches to replace the previous model’s black cladding. 
Meanwhile, a new rear spoiler adds 5mm to the overall length, while a new cleaner rear diffuser is also installed. Inside the cabin, the model is fitted with a wood-grain dash trim and a dark grey interior colour for a luxurious atmosphere.
The model is also equipped with wireless charging panels with higher trims fitted with an upgraded 9-inch digital inner rear-view mirror. Front seats are now equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, with the rear seats fitted with a 12-level recline function. 
XPENG claims its new G6 model also remains a genuinely practical option for active UK families which could win over customers. 
The Chinese brand is also keen to point out the car’s superb safety credentials, with the car fitted with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. 
Parking assistance tools are also fitted with the car also equipped with seven airbags and advanced collision prevention systems across forward, side, and rear incidents.
