MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A driver was trapped in their SUV after a four-vehicle crash on the Beltline, the Madison Fire Department said Wednesday.
Fire crews responded around 6:43 a.m. to reports of a vehicle sliding across multiple lanes on the eastbound Beltline at Todd Drive. Officials said the crash may have been because of black ice.
MFD got to the scene and saw a four-vehicle crash. An SUV was pinned against a highway barrier, and another vehicle was blocking the driver’s side door.
Paramedics checked the driver, who said they were OK.
Crews stabilized the SUV and removed the person through the trunk.
Officials checked the driver for injuries, but the driver declined to go to the hospital. No one else reported injuries, authorities said.
