Emergency services closed Leicester Road following the crash on Tuesday
A woman has died in a two-car crash in Tilton on the Hill.
Leicestershire Police was called to a crash involving a blue Vauxhall Agila and a grey Ford Kuga on the B6407 Leicester Road at about 12:00 GMT on Tuesday.
The female passenger of the Agila died at the scene while the driver – a man – was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The driver of the Kuga was injured but her injuries are not believed to be life-changing, the force added.
Det Con Suki Sahota, who is investigating the crash, said: "At the time, the Agila was travelling towards Tilton on the Hill while the Kuga was travelling in the opposite direction.
"Please let us know if you have any dashcam which may have captured anything relating to this incident."
