MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Boys and Girls Club of Dane County surprised a Madison family with a special Christmas gift that will provide them with stability.
On Wednesday, the nonprofit gifted Mario and Nichelle Smith a brand-new car. They said this was tremendous blessing for their family of seven.
This gift comes after their house was destroyed in a fire earlier this month.
“The stability behind it,” said Nichelle. “You know in six weeks, there’s not gonna be a chance for us to end up on the side of the road and have to put money into something when we are trying to rebuild the rest of our lives.”
The car was made possible through the nonprofit’s Pay it Forward campaign and the generosity of community and corporate partners.
Before receiving this gift, the family was relying on an old minivan over 250,000 miles.
