One of the NFL’s top quarterbacks partnered with Toyota this Christmas season to bless several families with an unforgettable surprise.
San Francisco’s Brock Purdy gifted military veterans and families with children battling pediatric illness a holiday haul that included jerseys, game tickets, footballs, and – in a memorable finale – brand-new Toyota vehicles topped with large red bows.
Purdy is in his fourth year in the league and is widely considered one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks, having guided the 49ers to two NFC Championship appearances and a Super Bowl berth. He is also one of the league’s most outspoken Christians.
Toyota released a video showing Purdy presenting the gifts to the families and expressing gratitude for their strength and perseverance.

“We appreciate every single one of you guys sitting here and for what you guys have done and what you guys stand for, and we look up to you just for your fight and your courage – we appreciate all of you guys,” he told the families.
Each family received goody bags with a ball and the specially designed “rivalry jerseys” the 49ers will wear in the regular season finale against Seattle. Each family also received tickets to the game – an announcement that drew cheers from the crowd.
But the gifting didn’t end there.
Purdy guided the families outside, where he revealed each of them would be receiving a new car.
“We just wanted to help you all out as best we could,” he said.
One man in attendance – a military veteran who had been deployed three times – expressed disbelief at the moment.
“I didn’t know what to expect, and then the surprises just kept on going and going,” he said.
Toyota will also make the vehicles wheelchair accessible for those who need it, Purdy said.
“Thank you for giving us encouragement and motivation to keep going in life,” Purdy told one child in a wheelchair.
Purdy’s team is 11-4 and battling for the top playoff seed in the NFC.
