NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A 28-year-old woman died after her electric scooter collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Palmyra Street and S Claiborne Avenue on Saturday, New Orleans police said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
Officers were called to the scene around 3:55 p.m., where they discovered a mini electric scooter had collided with a vehicle at the intersection.
Initial reports indicate the electric scooter driver was operating eastbound on S Claiborne Avenue when the driver of the vehicle attempted to cross S Claiborne Avenue and struck the victim.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
