A man and a child have died after being hit by a car in Logan, south of Brisbane.
Police said a four-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man were hit by a ute at 11:15am on Green Road at Regents Park on Sunday.
The pair were known to each other.
The 41-year-old male driver of the ute has been taken into custody and is assisting police with the investigation.
A family member of one of the victims told the ABC the man and boy were heading out to get ice cream at a nearby service station when the crash occurred.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and police have requested anyone with relevant information or vision of the ute to come forward.

The incident follows a fatal crash in Logan last night.
Emergency services were called to New Beith Road at Greenbank to reports of a utility that had rolled on its side at around 10pm.
The 31-year-old male driver suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
Two passengers were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with minor injuries.
