A vehicle left the roadway and struck a house in Oneonta Wednesday, Dec. 31, causing damage to the residence.
A red Acura sedan appeared to have been driven into an enclosed front porch at 18 Fair St. in the city of Oneonta. Crews were dispatched around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Oneonta Police Chief Christopher Witzenburg said at the scene that the car appeared to have been driving south on Otsego Street when it drove into the corner of the house.
There were only minor injuries reported. Witzenburg said he believed just one person was in the house at the time of the crash, who was not transported to a hospital. The driver and two passengers were transported to an area hospital.
Witzenburg said he hoped residents would be able to move back into the house Wednesday night, but that there was concern about how far the car went into the house, as there could be foundational compromise. He added that first responders were trying to reach out to an engineer to get a better idea of how to pull the car out safely.
As of Wednesday, the cause of the crash was under investigation and no charges had been made.
