A woman was killed after being struck by a car near 700 South and River Road in St. George early Tuesday morning.
The St. George Police Department reported the incident around 6:30 a.m., saying westbound traffic on 700 South was blocked at the entrance to the St. George Regional Hospital.
Sgt. Jeremy Needles of the St. George Police Department said investigators believe the woman was crossing the street against the signal when she was struck by the car.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the victim has not been released.
Tiffany Mitchell, a spokesperson for the St. George Police Department, said the investigation into the crash was expected to impact traffic in the area for several hours.
Drivers were advised to find alternate routes around 700 South and River Road as there would be "no access to this investigation until the investigation is completed."
