ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WPDE) — A woman died after being hit by a car on Tuesday morning.
It happened on a private road or drive near N.C. Highway 130, according to First Sgt. S.B. Lewis with N.C. Highway Patrol.
Lewis said an on-scene investigation determined a car was travelling south on when a woman was laying in the roadway facing west.
He said the driver was restrained, speed was not a factor and impairment is not suspected.

The woman hit by the car has been identified as 32-year-old Michaela Marie Bullard of Maxton.
Lewis said "Bullard was not wearing any reflective clothing and impairment is unknown at this time."
He added Bullard was transported to UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton where she died a couple of hours after the incident.
