Manuel Lopez, 31, of New Haven, is facing charges after engaging officers in a pursuit on Friday, police said.
NEW HAVEN — A city man is facing multiple charge after he lead city cops on a chase and threw drugs out of his car during it, police said.
Manuel Lopez, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, engaging police pursuit, interfering with police, operating motor vehicle without license and improper parking, city police said.

Officers first noticed a silver Honda Accord parked in the 600 block of Ferry Street parked illegally sometime Friday, police said. When officers attempted to make contact with the driver, they fled, police said.
Police said officers ended up getting the Honda stopped after deploying stop sticks near State and Edwards streets. Police said during the pursuit, the driver, identified as Lopez, threw a vital of crack cocaine from the car.
Lopez is out on a $20,000 bond, police said. It was not immediately clear when Lopez was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court.
