Lenco Armor is a well-known and respected company that builds, sells, and services tactical armored trucks for law enforcement, fire & rescue, and the military.
Lenco's armored vehicles include SWAT trucks, EOD police vehicles, tactical EMS vehicles, armored SUVs, tactical EMS vehicles, armored brush trucks, border patrol vehicles, MedEvac ambulances, and more.
Well over 1,000 tactical teams are employing Lenco vehicles, and now there's a new one in service in Minnesota, and it's the first for the department.
Recently, the Duluth Police Department shared on Facebook that it had officially received its new Lenco Bearcat G3 armored rescue vehicle. The Bearcat is a state-of-the-art emergency response vehicle designed to provide ballistic protection and operational mobility in life-threatening situations.
This is the first time the department has had an armored rescue vehicle in its fleet. They note that in the past, the Duluth Police Department had to "outsource" from the Superior Police Department if one was needed for high-risk calls in Duluth.
Duluth police note that its new vehicle will also be made available to use in surrounding jurisdictions as needed.

“The purchase of this vehicle allows our officers to slow high-risk situations down and to have the protection to do so,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa. “It allows not only the safety of our officers, but also the safety of the community.”
The funds to purchase this vehicle were from previous surplus due to unfilled positions within the department.
