A SHOP worker has been forced to turn some customers away after a car crash left the store without Wi-Fi.
Sri Sugumar said they are missing out on sales as they cannot use the card machine at Today’s Local corner shop, on Astwood Road, following a crash three days prior.
The National Lottery machine is also temporarily not working after a car crashed into a telegraph pole and flipped over on the junction of Astwood Road and Bilford Road, in the early hours of Sunday (January 11) morning.
Openreach said it is working as quickly and safely as possible to restore the service.
“They’ve crashed and the telephone line and wires fell,” said Mr Sugumar.
“There was a WiFi problem during the storm and again due to this incident.”
Mr Sugumar said: “The lottery machine and the card machine is not working in my shop.
“Some people have come to do lottery and it’s not working. I don’t know how much (money) I have lost.
“No one has come to our community.”
Despite the issues, Today’s Local remains open and is still operating without its card machine.
