Police said the crash happened on Halifax Road close to the junction with Kilner Way
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Sheffield earlier.
Police were called to reports of a collision between a black Audi and a woman on Halifax Road, near the junction with Kilner Way, at 05:43 GMT.
The woman, in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene and her family have been informed.
The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, officers said.
Halifax Road was closed in both directions while officers carried out enquiries at the scene but has since been fully reopened, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
"We are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant footage which could aid our investigation to please contact us," they added.
