LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A car fire briefly closed multiple lanes on an east Las Vegas freeway Thursday morning.
Firefighters could be seen extinguishing the flames that engulfed a car on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 11/U.S. 95 near Charleston Boulevard.
Nevada Highway Patrol says the sedan caught fire and pulled off to the shoulder. The driver got out of the car and was not injured.
At least two lanes were shut down for the response, though one has since reopened.
Expect heavy delays on southbound I-11 until the scene is completely cleared. Consider using surface streets like Fremont Street or Charleston Boulevard as an alternate route.
