A car crashed into Detroit Metro Airport’s McNamara terminal Friday night, breaking through a set of glass check-in doors for Delta Airlines, and injuring six people.
The Wayne County Airport Authority issued a statement late Friday that its police department is investigating a vehicle that drove into the entrance of the McNamara Terminal at DTW hitting a ticket counter.
“The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 this evening. The driver is in custody and the cause of the crash is unknown at this time,” the statement read. “The WCAA Fire Department treated six people at the scene.”
Social media posts of a video showing a car inside the terminal and check-in area were circulating.
Another video showed a man who was yelling being forcibly removed from the area of the crash by airport officials, but it was unknown if he was the driver.
