A vehicle struck a power pole near the roundabout at the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 43 on Tuesday afternoon, closing both directions of the 58 just west of the 43, said Caltrans.

Power lines were downed in the road due to the crash. Avoid the area. There is no estimate for when the road will reopen.
Highway 58 east of the roundabout and both directions of Highway 43 are open.

The vehicle came to rest in a field after it crashed, reportedly catching fire, according to CHP's website. The people inside reportedly got out. It's unknown if anyone was injured at this time.
Meanwhile, PG&E reported at 2:56 p.m. that 393 of its customers were affected in an outage. Customers from Enos Lane and Panama Lane to Stockdale Highway, Rosedale Highway, and 7th Standard Road are affected until about 7:30 p.m., said PG&E's website.

Caltrans said PG&E is at the site of the crash and is making repairs.
