A Metro-North train car on the Harlem Line caught fire the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Scarsdale station, causing delays of up to 45 minutes.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority said that a disabled train car at 1 Depot Plaza is causing delays after a mechanical issue developed around 7:45 a.m. Scarsdale Fire Department confirmed in an Instagram story post that the mechanical issue developed into a fire under a train car. All passengers were evacuated.
Three trains were canceled, including the 8:56 a.m. train from Grand Central to North White Plains. Congestion from the incident and another disabled car at the Harlem-125th Street Station is causing additional delays on the Hudson Line, according to the MTA website.
