NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine (WGME) –A Maine woman, who died after being hit by a car while trying to cross a road in New Gloucester, is said to be the co-owner of a local brewery.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says 64-year-old Stacy Stratton of Gray died after a car, driven by a 49-year-old from Lewiston, hit her while she was crossing Lewiston Road on Saturday around 8:40 p.m.
Deputies say driver impairment is not a factor in the crash.
According to a post on Birchwood Brewing’s Facebook page, Stratton was a co-owner.
The brewery said they'll be closed until Wednesday.
The crash remains under investigation.
