Some Connecticut municipalities are instituting parking bans as a storm is expected to bring a few inches of snow to the state Friday night into Saturday.
The National Weather Service is predicting anywhere from a little more than a half-inch of snow in southwestern Connecticut, up to around 3 inches in the northeastern corner of the state.

But there's a chance a rare weather phenomenon could bring up to 6 inches of snow over eastern Connecticut. 
As the snow is falling Saturday, Connecticut will see high winds and dangerous cold move in. Even after the snow ends, Saturday night and Sunday morning will see subzero temperatures and wind chills, prompting the weather service to issue an extreme cold warning across the state.
The following cities and towns have instituted parking bans over the storm:
A parking ban will go into effect at 11 p.m. Saturday. Officials said parking will be restricted to the even side of the road and that vehicles parked in violation may be ticketed or towed.

A parking ban will be placed for all public roadways from midnight Friday until 11 p.m. Saturday. Vehicles left on the street will be subject to ticketing and may be towed at the owner’s expense, officials said. 
A parking ban will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, police said.

A parking ban will be in place from 11 p.m. Friday until further notice. Officials said all parking ban protocols apply.

Hartford's parking ban goes into effect at 10 p.m. Friday and will end at 10 a.m. Saturday.
