A 53-year-old woman was asleep when a car ploughed into an inner-city Perth home and killed her late on Friday night.
A family friend says the woman had travelled to Perth from Nepal to visit family, remembering her as "really charming" and "loving".
The alleged driver has been charged with manslaughter.

Police said a yellow Ford Falcon sedan was travelling on Alexander Road in Rivervale when it left the road and crashed into the unit about 11.40pm.

A woman who was inside the house died from her injuries at the scene.
A family friend of the woman said she had been sleeping in the front room of her daughter and son-in-law's home when the "tragic incident" happened. 
The 53-year-old had travelled from Nepal to visit her family in Perth. 
He said she would be remembered as a "loving" wife, mother and grandmother, describing her as "really charming".

On Saturday afternoon, police charged the alleged 36-year-old male driver of the car with manslaughter following their investigation.
Neighbour Ali Currimbhoy said he initially thought a plane had "dropped on top" of his roof when he heard the impact, with the "big bang" waking him from his sleep.

"A few minutes later, police came, ambulance came, it was very, very chaotic here," he said. 
"There were about 20 cars parked, fire trucks, all kinds … they blocked the whole road."
Mr Currimbhoy said the incident was frightening and it was "lucky" the car hadn't come into his property. 
Another resident, Taesharn Ashby, said he saw the scene and "devastated" family in the aftermath of the crash.
"I'm gutted … that's sad, anyone losing their life, that's something you won't want to know — especially just down the road from you," he said.

The alleged driver of the car was not injured and has been charged with manslaughter and criminal damage or destruction of property. 
He was denied bail and is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
It is not uncommon for cars to crash into houses, but it is rare for the people inside them to be killed. 
A teenage learner driver was jailed in 2011 after crashing into a house while under the influence of alcohol, killing a man inside, in the southern Perth suburb of Safety Bay.
