Surrey Police Service officers on patrol noticed bullets holes in a car wash business in the city Monday night.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday (Aug. 18), SPS members who were on patrol located bullet holes to the front of the business, located in the area of 128 Street and 84 Avenue.
The business was closed at the time, and no employees were on scene at the time of the incident, SPS confirmed in an email.
Officers noted the bullet holes of their own volition; the incident was unreported when discovered, SPS media relations officer Sgt. Tige Pollock noted.
It is too early to say if there is any connection to the ongoing extortion attempts and threats to Surrey’s South Asian business community, as the motive for the incident is still under investigation, Pollock said.
SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) have assumed conduct of the investigation.
