Two people have died, and several were hospitalized after multiple cars were involved in a crash in Largo, Maryland, Tuesday afternoon.

The crash took place about 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Landover Road and St. Josephs Drive not far from the Capital Beltway and Woodmoore Towne Center. That area was shut down for hours.
At least seven cars were involved, and two rolled over, police said.
Two people died at the scene and five others were taken to hospitals in serious condition. The five hospitalized are two 50-year-old men, a 92-year-old man, an 89-year-old and a 28-year-old woman, according to the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department.
Maryland State Police is investigating the crash.
