The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an incident in which shots were fired at a local car wash.
Police say that officers were on patrol at around 11:05 p.m. on Monday when they located bullet holes in the front of the affected business, located in the area of 128 Street and 84 Avenue.
The business was closed, and no employees were on scene at the time of the incident.
The owner, Lovepreet Singh, says he received a call from an unknown number on Saturday, August 16, during which the caller demanded $50,000.
Singh says he declined.
“And after five minutes he just gave me call back and he said, we are outside your business, can you come out?”
But Singh wasn’t inside his business. He claims the men showed up at his home on Sunday around midnight.
He says he shared a video of the encounter with the SPS.
After a full work day on Monday, he says the police called to inform him the storefront had been shot.

“Investigators are still attempting to determine the motive for the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing,” said police.
SPS says its Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) has assumed conduct of the investigation.
