Perhaps the most important update for 2026 is the inclusion of the NACS charging port
Toyota’s latest update to its all-electric crossover brings a welcome surprise to the showroom floor. Given the number of changes introduced to the 2026 bZ, previously known as the bZ4X, it would have been reasonable to expect a price bump. Instead, the entry-level model is actually more affordable, dropping by $2,170 compared to its predecessor.
That price cut could give Toyota a better shot at attracting buyers in the American market, where the model has yet to gain much traction.

Sitting at the base of the range is the bZ XLE FWD, now priced from $34,900 excluding a $1,450 destination charge. Despite its lower MSRP, the 2026 model comes with a refreshed front fascia and body-colored fenders that replace the black trim of the previous generation. In this variant, a 57.7 kWh battery pack powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 221 hp.
Options for Range and Drive
Those looking for more distance between charges can move up to the bZ XLE FWD Plus, which starts at $37,900 before destination fees. It comes with a larger 74.7 kWh battery while retaining the same front motor. Buyers who want all-wheel drive can pair that larger battery with a second motor, raising the price to $39,900 for the bZ XLE AWD.
The upper trims, however, tell a different story. While Toyota lowered the price of the base model, the bZ Limited FWD and AWD both see increases of $1,500. The front-wheel-drive Limited now starts at $43,300, while the all-wheel-drive version begins at $45,300.
Beyond the tweaked looks, perhaps the most significant upgrade to the 2026 bZ is the inclusion of the North American Charging System (NACS) plug, meaning owners will be able to access Tesla’s comprehensive Supercharger network.
Some welcome updates have also been made to the cabin of the bZ. For 2026, all models come standard with an enlarged 14-inch infotainment display, complete with a pair of wireless phone chargers and configurable ambient lighting. Last, but not least, Toyota has taken a leaf out of Hyundai’s playbook by fitting paddle shifters behind the steering wheel that allow for on-the-fly adjustments of the regenerative braking system.
