Agentic artificial intelligence company Tensor has announced the release of its L4 Robocar.
With the release of this new AI-defined vehicle, Tensor is providing customers with a personal piece of AI. The Robocar, a new type of personal vehicle, is driven by data from the company’s AI model, the Tensor Foundation.
The model learns through simulated datasets, incorporating planning, perception, and prediction. The system’s functionality draws from human cognition, with trials using imitation learning and Visual Language Models to make reason-based decisions based on understanding complex scenarios.
According to Tensor, its new model represents the first consumer-ready, volume-produced vehicle to feature individualized privacy. The core of each car’s Large Language Model is designed to go beyond voice assistance, as Tensor states that the car utilizes the owner’s data.
The car includes a high-volume Level 4 autonomy stack, a technology suite comprising 37 cameras, 22 microphones, five lidars, triple-channel 5G, and several other features. This technology, which uses sensor fusion and transformer architecture, is designed to navigate various weather conditions and times of day.
Tensor says the Robocar has 28 “world firsts,” from the AI agentic vehicle itself to a foldable steering wheel. The vehicle is scheduled to be available to consumers in the second half of 2026.
