An Auburn woman died in a crash where the car overturned and was submerged under a nearby reservoir.
The woman was identified as Finleigh Dragon, 19, according to a spokesperson from Worcester County Joseph Early Jr.’s office said Monday.
At around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, officers learned of a crash on Rochdale Street, according to a police statement. Auburn police and firefighters went to the scene and found one person in the car before they took them to the hospital.
The car was partially submerged in the Stoneville Reservoir, the Telegram and Gazette reported.
Dragon was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
“The Auburn Police Department and Auburn Fire Department [extend their] deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim,” police said in the department’s statement.
The crash remains under investigation.
